When you look out of the window here at the Educere retreat centre you overlook the beautiful Loch Snizort and you can see the ebb and flow of the tides. The tides cannot be in all the time or out all the time. There is a rhythmic ebb and flow.
So with us we cannot be on the go continuously. Life needs to flow inward as well as outward. Our times of recollection and inward reflection need to be natural and rhythmic just like the inward flow of the sea. If we are constantly doing the we end up exhausted and empty. We need to retreat, recollect, regenerate and renew.
